Washington White2024-02-25 Great Eastern Cape Option First things first, this is not a safari experience on the scale or grandeur of the private concessions up by Kruger, but then again, it’s not trying to be. What you get here is a very bespoke and personalised safari. We stayed at Inzolo Lodge which we found to be very clean and comfortable. The food was OK and we liked the concept of dining alongside other guests; it is always fun to discuss the highlights of your game drives. The drives themselves were really good with plenty of giraffes, hippos, rhinos, lions and a brilliant cheetah sighting. Our guide, Ryno, was brilliant, probably one of the best we’ve had. His ability to tell a good story coupled with a passion for conservation and animal welfare was exceptional; what should have been a 3 hour drive often ended up being considerably longer. 3 nights at Lalibela is probably sufficient, but don’t let this put you off, as it’s easily accessible, malaria free, the personalised service is fantastic and you should see most, if not all, of the big 5. It should also be noted that it’s a fraction of the price of going up to Kruger! emac2024-02-25 Amazing place to stay and amazing Safari expeirence. I would aboslutely recommend choosing Lalibela as a game reserve. The Safari was incredible and I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed it. The room and environment at the lodge was also amazing. The food was plentiful and delicious. As with all the private game reserves, it is expensive but it felt worth every penny and I wouldn't change a thing! Angela J2024-02-22 Exceptional game reserve and experience The most wonderful experience of our lives Lentaba lodge luxurious and attention to detail beautiful. The staff are amazing especially Liesal our ranger, who was so knowledgeable, patient and passionate her job, you tell her what you want to see and she will do her level best to find it! The animals are incredible, the staff on the lodge are great at giving you an amazing experience, the food is fantastic, we met some many incredible people we just can’t wait to go back! Don’t hesitate to book, you want regret it! maritabalda2024-02-17 Amazing experience Everything was great!! The accommodation, the food, the safari!! The only problem was the wifi! There is only in the main area, in living room!!! But very low… The room was very clean and big! You must visit Lalibela!!!! jeminab2024-02-16 Very enjoyable stay We stayed at Lentaba Lodge which is about a 20 minute drive from Lalibella reception. The disclaimer that you have to sign when you arrive is a little disconcerting. There are 10 thatched, 2 person lodges and a main lodge that houses the restaurant, bar and lounge areas. There is an outdoor pool and further outdoor seating areas with splendid views of the reserve. The style of decoration is rustic with plenty of African art. The buffet meals are really tasty with plenty of choice and are taken at one long table. Good wifi and tea, coffee and bottled water in each room. 2 game drives per day at 6am and 4pm are always fascinating whether you are observing animals, birds or plants. JPm_642024-02-14 AMAZING We visited using a cruise ship tour but we absolutely loved the reserve. Teacher was our tour guide who managed to search out four of the big five and we had the most amazing 2.5hr safari. Afterwards we enjoyed an amazing lunch at the lodge. The staff are so friendly and accommodating and we will be looking return one day independently and stay for a few days. Dangerburg2022-05-04 A Hidden Treasure. My family and I stayed at Mark’s camp for three nights in April 2022. We have three young boys aged 1, 5 and 8. My wife and I honeymooned in Shamwari next door 15 years ago and we were keen to do a safari with our kids. Mark’s camp appeared to have a family feel which appealed to us. Undoubtedly this is the finest game reserve we have ever been on. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were treated with a level of service not previously experienced. Their attention to detail is unrivalled. A five star treatment is guaranteed. The rooms are top quality and easily accommodated us all. The food served is high quality with 3 meals served daily. Local produce such as Ostrich, Kudu and Eland is served daily and is quite simply delicious. I would like to note the staff at Mark’s camp as the most courteous and professional staff I have ever encountered. They simply cannot do enough for you. On each game drive we left our 1 year old in the main house with a childminder and the house staff. It was clear on our return how engaged the house team were with minding our child when we were on drives. This service was inclusive on our package and allowed us to relax in confidence on our drives. We had a morning and evening game drive each day. Our ranger “Guy” was absolutely brilliant at his job and he went above and beyond each day to accommodate my wife and I and especially our two young boys who accompanied us on each game drive. He was extremely accommodating of us and answered all of our questions on the animals, no matter how silly! We saw lions, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, buffaloes, hippos, cheetahs and many more animals. Each drive was an amazing experience. Guy knows his trade and was brilliant at entertaining the kids. He also spent time playing football and games at Mark’s camp each day in between game drives. I had concerns about keeping my kids engaged with the game drives given their duration and the earliness of the morning drives however on our last drive my boys were fully dressed, packed and waiting at 530am ready for action!! I credit Guy with this anticipation. My boys had an unforgettable experience made better by Guy’s enthusiasm and commitment to customer satisfaction. My boy’s Sam and Jacob are still talking about their experience and are already wondering when we are going back. The animals at Lalibela are truly amazing and to experience them up close in the natural habitat is something I cannot recommend enough. A truly memorable experience. Thank you Mark’s camp.
